Step back in time and experience the rich history of the village of Zoar. The Village of Zoar is a well-preserved early 19th-century communal village. Zoar was founded in 1817 by a group of German “Separatists” fleeing religious persecution in their native Wurtemberg, Germany. Built in 1831.
Zoar Community Association
Zoar Village was founded in 1817 by a group of 200 German Separatists seeking escape from religious persecution in their homeland. These Separatists thrived as a unique Society for more than 80 years, making Zoar Village one of the most successful communal settlements in American history.
Zoar School Inn
The Zoar School Inn was Zoar's first schoolhouse, built in 1836. Once a one story schoolhouse, the structure was turned into a residence when a newer school was built in 1868. Innkeepers Joe and Gayle Potelicki are accepting reservations for your next getaway. Please inquire regarding older children.
